Rock Island, Ill. (Nov. 23, 2021) – Royal Neighbors of America, one of the largest and first women-led insurance organizations in the U.S., located in Rock Island, Ill., has announced Brianna Huber, Executive Director of Her2O, Moline, Ill., has been presented with one of ten Nation of Neighbors℠ empowerment awards and grants presented nationwide. In addition to the award, she received a $10,000 grant for her organization.

Her2O's mission is to stimulate, elevate, and embolden (SEE) women's participation in global water management. Through outreach, education, training, mentoring, advocacy, scholarships, research and support programming, Her2O is conducting research, raising awareness, creating cultures, removing barriers, creating opportunities, and inspiring the next generation of women in water management.

“We believe that having women equitably involved in water management in every corner of the globe will positively impact our planet, people and economy,” stated Huber. “By equitably involving women in water management, we develop more innovative, more efficient, more financially beneficial, less risky, more timely solutions to global water issues.”

Amy Jones, Royal Neighbors’ Director of Philanthropy presented the award and grant to Huber and members of Her2O. “Brianna has turned her own challenges as a woman in a male-dominated industry into an opportunity to empower her peers,” stated Ms. Jones. “She exemplifies Royal Neighbors’ 126-year-old mission to empower women and support their communities.”

The empowerment grant will help Huber grow Her2O to benefit women in the water management industry around the world through outreach, education, scholarships, and research. Huber says she’s thrilled to have the opportunity grow her community of women and its resources. “We will be able to lift up women and societies around the world, and further boost the local economies where women are involved,” she added.

Nation of Neighbors is a Royal Neighbors of America philanthropy program that awards financial assistance to nominated individuals who plan to start or expand a business, organization, program, or nonprofit that helps women and/or girls in their community. To date, nearly $2.5 million has been awarded nationwide.
